The retreat part of INURA2026 will take place in an alpine resort 900 meters above sea level in the highlands outside Nicea. The resort is designed for middle-class families and consists of single residential units and common facilities.
The wooden bungalows come in two groups, designed for core families of various sizes. The smaller ones have one bedroom and a living room, the larger ones have two bedrooms and a living room. We tested the sleeping sofas in the living rooms: they are very comfortable. All bungalows come with a fireplace, a small fridge, and a kettle. Firewood for the bungalows can be obtained for a small fee.
The vast, rustic dining room with its massive wooden furniture and two fireplaces is perfectly suitable for plenaries and screenings. We may also use the official meeting room with 60 seats, the glass-façade winter terrace, the swimming pool area, or even the yoga room for different kinds of group meetings.
Between meetings, the pool, sauna, hammam and steam bath will be at our service.
The landscape is perfectly suitable for the traditional INURA trek: there are several options available, either into a canyon or up into the hills. The village itself, originally inhabited by Georgian refugees, is an interesting interface between the rural and the urban and is a textbook example of rural gentrification.
You may also wish to bring your partners and kids for a family escapade. Strawberries in the neighbouring fields will be in season, should they get bored in the children’s playroom.,
Due to the altitude, daytime temperatures will be perfect for meetings. After sunset, it will be rather fresh.
