The INURA Workshop consists of two parts.
Part I: First and Second Day Excursions Evaluation
Participants will first take part in two round-table workshops. The aim is to collectively reflect on the observations, questions, ideas and discussions that emerged during the two-day fieldwork in Istanbul. These reflections will be shared across groups in order to build a common ground for further discussion.
Part II: Developing Roadmaps and Proposals
The second stage will focus on identifying six key themes that emerged collectively from the Istanbul fieldwork and discussions. The participants will then create a further mapping exercise with the themes. The themes will serve as points of comparison through which participants can bring in experiences, cases and knowledge from their own cities and contexts. Rather than producing a map of Istanbul alone, the exercise aims to develop a comparative understanding of contemporary urban processes and to generate possible roadmaps, propositions or future directions for collective action and research.
In both sections, large sheets of paper will be used for notes, diagrams, visualizations, or conceptual maps. Each mapping will include a title, the names of participants and a short written summary (1-2 paragraphs). It is recommended that each table designate: a rapporteur (to present the mapping), and a mapping coordinator (to organize the visual mapping process).
